Yuanwang House, one of the Top 10 new landmarks of Shandong culture, is designed by Tongji Architectural Design (Group) Co., Ltd. It has a total area of 7,616m2, which is a comprehensive ultra-modern building integrating catering, ship waiting and sightseeing.
Standing on its high viewing platform, you can look over the entrance of Yellow River into the sea, so the building is called Yuanwang House, implying viewing the tides caused by the entrance of the endless Yellow River into Bohai Sea. Yuanwang House has a unique building style, which is in a flowing structure supported by tour core tubes (it is hailed as a double-H shape with dual meanings. First of all, it represents the two initial consonants of the Chinese characters of Yellow River in the Chinese phonetic alphabet. Second, it also represents the high house in English). The four core tubes are painted in color, symbolizing the enthusiasm, romance of people in the Yellow River Estuary. Different colors have different meanings. Red represents greeting red carpet, yellow stands for the Yellow River, blue means the Bohai Sea and green is on behalf of the ecological wetlands. The yellow and blue in the middle represents the spectacle of river and section intersection, and also implies the combination of the government’s yellow and blue strategies.
